University supports local drink developmentThe Focus Project, launched on 15th May 2007 of which the Lincoln University Holbeach is a partner, is providing 30-hours of the Universities faculties for food and drink development. www.winegifts4u.co.uk has teamed up with them to develop a wine spritzer. The University will provide the following facilities; product development, tasting in the tasting labs. It is hoped that developing this product will create new employment opportunities within the company for marketing and distribution. Wine Courses!www.winegifts4u.co.uk and Vin De Terre are working with the University to develop a wine course for local pubs and restaurants. The University will provide the faculty help with the development of the course content, and Vin De Terre will provide the wine expertise and deliver the course. The company is currently looking at adding innovative products to its portfolio of personalised gifts. Lincoln University Holbeach Campus has provided a gateway between themselves and De Montford University to develop a 3D system for creating picture postcards, crystals and other similar products. It is hoped that customers will be able to create a 3D personalised gifts on www.winegifts4u.co.uk. This unique concept will be developed with the two educational establishment's expertise and www.winegifts4u.co.uk will provide the commercial vechicle for selling the unique gifts.
University Helps Food Company Speed Up!The University of Lincolns Holbeach Campus has been active on the Focus Project working with a small bakery company with big ambitions. The company is at the stage in its development where it needs to increase its output to satisfy the demand for their products. Mike Dudbridge from the University has been working with the company to identify the areas in production that need to be changed to increase the output without risking the quality of the products being made. The University has worked with the company to identify and install solutions which have released 30% more production capacity without significant investment being required in new equipment. “The project was all about working smarter not harder” said Mike. “It is amazing what can be achieved in just 30 hours of work. The secret is to make sure that the changes introduced do not slip back over the coming weeks and months”.
